Haunts of Hidden River Haunted Hayrides is a much-anticipated Brownsburg event that comes around once a year during Halloween. Volunteers from the town pitch in to transform Arbuckle Acres Park into a terrifying fright fest straight out of the pages of an Edgar Allen Poe story. Hayrides are held all throughout the week leading up to Halloween and do an excellent job of frightening everybody who’s brave enough to set foot on the tractor. The Haunts of Hidden River festival also includes other cool Brownsburg community events, such as the Haunted Chili Cookoff, a chance for residents to give Brownsburg restaurants a run for their money, and the Kid’s Costume Contest, a chance for Brownsburg kids to show off their ghoulish disguises.
