Brownsburg Schools: Investing in the Future
In Brownsburg, Indiana, the school system is second to none. This small satellite to Indiana state capital Indianapolis really cares about the future of its children, and nowhere does this show more than in the Brownsburg Community School Corporation, the governing entity behind Brownsburg education. BCSC encompasses six elementary schools, two middle schools, and three different high schools, making it one of the larger school corporations in the region.
The six elementary schools that belong to the Brownsburg Community School Corporation are Brown Elementary, Cardinal Elementary, Delaware Trail Elementary, Eagle Elementary, Reagan Elementary, and White Lick Elementary. Each offers unique teaching styles, facilities, and after school activities. Brown Elementary was recently remodeled to add more space in the gym, hallways, and cafeteria, and each room there is equipped with networked computers, so students can stay up to date on Indianapolis media. Students at these elementary schools are in grades K through 5 and can participate in fun, brain building extra-curriculars like Spell Bowl, Math Pentathlon, and Geography Bee.
Brownsburg’s two middle schools, West Middle School and East Middle School, serve Brownsburg children in grades six through eight. Like the elementary schools, students at East and West Middle Schools learn a variety of different subjects to prepare them for entrance into high school. Classes are broken into two halves, or “teams”, which students stay with for their entire tenure at either middle school. After school, students can participate in Jr. National Honor Society to flex their academic might, Band and Orchestra to begin careers in Indianapolis music, Pride Club to fight the war on drugs, and a whole wealth of Brownsburg sports to learn the value of teamwork.
The three high schools that are operated by the Brownsburg Community School Corporation are Brownsburg High School, Harris Academy, and Senior Academy. Brownsburg High School is one of the top ranked high schools in Indiana, and their athletic teams can compete with some of the best in Indianapolis sports. Harris Academy is a small, specialized learning community that serves both Avon High School and Brownsburg High School. It functions as a helper for students who have to work while still attending classes or who have other special circumstances. Senior Academy is an institution that operates as a higher ranked path of study for seniors, preparing them to attend an Indiana college and succeed at whatever they do.

It’s clear that the Brownsburg Community School Corporation believes that its children are one of the most important parts about Brownsburg. The eleven schools that comprise BCSC all cater to different niches and different types of students, ensuring that everyone gets the best Brownsburg education possible. Family oriented people move to this small city for the opportunities it provides to its residents; its schools alone are reason enough for a relocation.
