Brownsburg Community Center
Inside the spiffy Brownsburg Community Center, visitors will find something that everybody in the family will love. The Center offers different types of fitness programs and classes, adult leagues, two gymnasiums, an aerobics room and separate meeting rooms.
Memberships are tailored to individual needs, with lots of different plans offered, including a family plan and a non-members daily admission pass.
Just some of the great programs organized and offered on behalf of the community of Brownsburg, Indiana are:
Youth Enrichment Programs
“SignSational Kids!” is a class for kids from six months to six years, geared to introduce children to basic sign language.
ShowTime Dance Studio invites everybody older than three to have fun and get fit through classes such as tap, hip-hop, ballet, lyrical, pre-dance and strength and conditioning.
Pottery classes are for little kids from two to six. They are taught how to make easy stuff, including Christmas decorations, on a potter’s wheel or just at the table.
Adult Enrichment Programs
Pottery classes for ages 12 and over offer supervised guidance and advice; fun for the whole family.
Basketball for those “50s and better” are held twice weekly at the Brownsburg Community Center.
Bunko is now a world-famous dice game that has taken the community by storm. Cards, bingo and domino clubs also meet on a regular basis at the Brownsburg Community Center.
For those even more fanatic about games of chance, the Center organizes regular trips to the Argosy Casino to enjoy roulette, the slots or blackjack, and maybe even take home a little jack as well.
At the Center’s annual Health Fair and Flu Shots gathering, the senior community is invited to learn more about health and nutrition, and receive shots to guard against the flu. It’s free!
The Brownsville Recipe Club meets at the Brownsburg Community Center for six consecutive weeks. Participants bring their own recipes and get to try everybody else’s favorites too.
Community Events
Brownsburg’s annual “Christmas Under the Stars” is free for everyone, and they come from as far as the nearby Big City, Indianapolis, to see the wonderful Parade of Lights and be a part of the yearly festivities afterward, including games, concessions, Christmas carolers, pictures with Santa and crafts for the kids. This is your Midwestern small-town Christmas gathering at its best.
“Movies in the Gym” screens family favorites on a giant screen, where friends from all over the community can kick back in lawn chairs and blankets.
Fitness Programs
Just some of the programs offered on an ongoing basis at Brownsburg Community Center are: Aerobics, kickboxing, yoga, Zumba, cycling and body sculpting.
